The further you advance into the Fori Imperiali the more you feel set back in time. Here, you can touch with your own hands those places which made Rome a unique city.
Visit the remains of the Basilica Emilia, the Curia (where the Roman senate gathered) and the Lapis Niger (where the grave of the founder of Rome, Romolus, is worshipped). Directly opposite there is the Arch of Septimius Severus and the Temple of Saturn which was the seat of the treasury of the Roman Empire.
